Capt. Istvan Kopar and his race management team are pleased to announce that Sea Hawk Paints, manufactured by New Nautical Coatings, Inc., is the latest sponsor to join his 2018 Golden Globe Race venture. Based out of Clearwater, Florida, Sea Hawk Paints is a family business that has been manufacturing premium yacht finishes since 1978.
Istvan will be using Sea Hawk’s Tuff Stuff epoxy primer on the bottom of his boat. He also plans on using Sea Hawk cleaners, reducers, solvents, epoxy resin, filler, and fiberglass where structural reinforcement or modifications are required. Lastly, Istvan is looking forward to the benefit of Sea Hawk’s high quality antifouling paint, which he credits as a major factor in improving race performance. For a nonstop race lasting 10 months at sea, this will truly be a game changer!
